Flow velocity is measured with doppler radar and liquid level with ultrasonic pulse echo. The volumetric flow is then calculated using Q=AV by converting the water level and conduit size to fluid cross-sectional area and multiplying this by the mean velocity. In addition to monitoring flow rate in sewage works, it can monitor industrial discharge, rainfall/storm water studies, inflow/infiltration studies and sewer system evaluations.
