Large Water Authority Fined £418k

Non-compliance is costly

A recent case in England brought by the Environment Agency has seen a large water authority receiving a fine of £418k due to a pollution incident.

The incident saw a leak within a chamber located on a water treatment works release sodium hydroxide into the local river resulting in damaging over 5km of ecology as well as killing an estimated 30,000 fish.
